SUNSHINE Coast-based insurance business, Youi, has graduated its first class of employees with an industry accreditation in customer engagement.
Star Awards for outstanding achievement were presented to three of the class – Bianca Felsinger, Jamie Brown and Helen Kopcikas-Moore at a graduation ceremony this week.
The 12-month Certificate III course was delivered in partnership with The Australian College of Commerce and Management and Australian Apprenticeship Network Provider BUSY At Work. The program was tailored specifically for new Youi employees as part of their onboarding into the company.
Ages of the 36 graduates ranged from 20 to 54 with a close to even split of males and females.
Youi CEO Frank Costigan said the business wanted to ensure it was providing an environment where people could continuously learn and thrive.
“This is a fully accredited Certificate III in customer engagement, so employees will have these qualifications for life, which are recognised throughout the industry,” he said.
“Offering a unique program that combines industry accredited qualifications with our own internal skill development is all part of our commitment to delivering the best customer service the industry has to offer.”
BUSY At Work Managing Director Paul Miles congratulated Youi on the successful traineeship program.
“We at BUSY are very proud to be partnering with Youi who are making a big difference on the Sunshine Coast through Australian traineeships. BUSY has worked closely with Youi to support their training program needs to be aligned with a suitable national qualification.
“Youi’s presence on the Sunshine Coast has created significant and sustainable employment growth for the community’s future.
“BUSY would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Youi and congratulate all 36 graduates who, through this innovative traineeship program can all look forward to having rewarding careers in the insurance industry,” said Mr Miles.
The 12-month traineeship now becomes part of the training for new employees with the company.
The 36 graduates were all appointed between December, 2016, and March, 2017, with 22 per cent not having had previous sales experience.
Those without sales experience had diverse backgrounds in hospitality, physical training, administration, IT, payroll, emergency services and the navy.
The 78 per cent with previous sales experience had backgrounds in automotive, door to door, general insurance, real estate and property, retail, travel or had been self employed.
Youi is set to officially open on March 1 its new state-of-the-art four-level building at Sippy Downs.
