The Queensland government is seeking out the state’s best apprentices, vocational students, trainees, teachers and employers for the annual training awards.
Education and employment minister John-Paul Langbroek said the Queensland Training Awards is an opportunity to showcase the state’s best training achievers and honour excellence in the industry.
“The awards are an opportunity to show how people from all walks of life are using training to further their careers or achieve business success,” Mr Langbroek explained.
“Those recognised in the regional finals will go on to state finals in Brisbane in September, and may have the chance to represent our state at the Australian Training Awards in Perth in November.”
With nominations open until March 22, those completing apprenticeships and traineeships in Queensland are urged to step forward, along with training organisations and trainers.
The event, now in its 52nd year, will celebrate the best of the training sector across 11 categories – recognising different aspects of the industry including the best training providers, teachers, trainers and school-based apprentices.
Mr Langbroek said the awards help boost the profile of skills and training opportunities in Queensland, while recognising the outstanding contribution that people make in the field.
