Nationally acclaimed employment and apprenticeship services provider BUSY At Work has celebrated 40 years of success with a gala birthday event in Brisbane overnight.
The event was held to acknowledge and thank the key personnel, service providers and supporters who have helped the organisation rise to become one of Australia’s most recognised and respected employment services brands.
BUSY At Work Managing Director Paul Miles said the not-for-profit organisation had an extraordinary track record of success, and its story over 40 years was one of delivering for clients and the community.
“It’s a great success story – for our clients and for improving Australian society through helping people into meaningful and productive work,” Mr Miles said.
“It’s unusual for an organisation to last such a long time, but BUSY At Work has not only survived, but we have thrived on our reputation for achieving lasting outcomes.”
The BUSY Group – originally “BUSY Inc” – was founded in 1977, with a remit from then President Martin Punch to help homeless youth on the Gold Coast.
Mr Punch remains as Chair of The BUSY Group Ltd, but his initial desire to help has resulted in an organisation with sites in more than 40 locations across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.
“I’d never have imagined in 1977 just how far this journey would take the group, and the remarkable people who would contribute to the many successes along the way,” Mr Punch said.
“I consider it a privilege to be a part of the organisation still, and I know that the other members of our leadership team and our hard-working personnel understand the importance of their role in keeping and continuing the legacy.
“I thank everyone who has supported the journey for the last four decades, and everyone who will help us continue out important work for many years into the future.”
