State of Origin greats will attend the Queensland event providing Indigenous job seekers and school leavers with opportunities to link up with employers, training providers and education, with the FOGS Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo taking place on Wednesday May 29 in Mt Isa.
Maroons heroes Steve Price and Alfie Langer were present at the Sunshine Coast Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo in April, with this event visiting seven locations throughout Queensland this year.
The careers expo will be showcasing professions in child care, tourism, plumbing, building and construction, hospitality, mining, the defence forces, postal, nursing, police and more.
School leavers and job seekers will have the opportunity to speak with former State of Origin players about their career options, with the list of players attending the expo to be released one week before the event.
Mt Isa’s expo, supported by Construction Skills Queensland, will take place at the Xstrata Entertainment Centre from 9am to 2pm with free entry to the event.
The FOGS Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo will then visit Townsville in July, Rockhampton in August, Toowoomba in September and then finally Brisbane in October.
