Dalby based company Dingo Australia is setting the pace for local companies by helping young trainees and apprentices secure a bright future in a world class manufacturing industry.
The Australian family owned company are leaders in innovation and technology and their mini diggers and trailers are used extensively by landscapers, tradesmen, miners and hire companies throughout Australia and New Zealand.
BUSY At Work Industry Training Consultant, Rachel de Jonge said BUSY had developed an excellent working relationship with the company.
“Dingo Australia is an extremely supportive company who have dedicated a large amount of time to training local people and providing a continuous learning environment for their employees.”
“During the past 10 years they have signed up over 100 apprentices and trainees, including school based trainees, through BUSY At Work.”
“We really appreciate the support that Dingo Australia gives us by trusting us to deliver on all their apprenticeship needs,” Ms de Jonge said.
Two young people who have recently signed up with Dingo Australia through BUSY At Work are Dalby locals Ashneel Dutt and Mike Gaur.
Since participating in the Work for the Dole scheme with the Dalby Chamber of Commerce earlier this year the pair are relishing the opportunity to pursue a career in a field they really enjoy.
After Ashneel’s determination to gain an apprenticeship was highlighted in the local paper, Dingo Australia HR Manager, Beth Morris contacted both Ashneel and Mike for an interview.
“We were very impressed with both Ashneel and Mike. We were actually looking for a boilermaker apprentice at the time and we offered Mike a position immediately.”
“Unfortunately as Ashneel had advised that he wanted to undertake a diesel apprenticeship, we were unable to offer him a position but instead encouraged him to follow his dream.”
“After touring our facilities, Ashneel became very interested in the assembly area of the factory and wanted to know if there any apprenticeships offered in that area and we advised him about a new apprenticeship that we were offering,” Ms Morris said.
With the assistance of Rachel de Jonge both Mike and Ashneel signed up for apprenticeships on 5 April this year.
Mike is now undertaking a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade while Ashneel has signed up for a Certificate III in Engineering – Maintenance Fitting.
Ms Morris said Dingo Australia was delighted to team up with BUSY At Work to support job seekers in achieving their career goals.
“We are keen to develop a highly qualified workforce and the support we have received from BUSY to meet the needs of our business has been exceptional,” Ms Morris said.
