After completing BUSY At Work’s Transition to Work program back in April, Tiffanies’ life began to change to the point where she was able to put all her energy into pursuing new career opportunities.
It’s been a whirlwind three months for Sous Chef Quentin Roper since he first connected with BUSY At Work Job Placement Officer Noosaville, Kimberley Goodwin.
During that time Quentin’s passion for work has grown in leaps and bounds to the point where he now has a secure full time job and is confident in his future.
Kimberley said Quentin had shown great determination and resilience after being many years out of work.
Australia’s unemployment rate dropped to 5.5 per cent and more than 40,000 jobs were created in May 2017, according to figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today.
The former Year 11 Kingaroy State High School student wasn’t enjoying school and was keen to explore what other work and study opportunities were available.
In February, Daniel undertook the Transition to Work Program through BUSY At Work and since then he hasn’t looked back.
With 24 years of experience in the plumbing industry under his belt in various roles ranging from warehouse manager to sales technical advisor, Raymond was keen to find regular casual work to help secure his financial future.
Early last year Markayla Bowers had an uncertain future and was unable to secure regular full time work in her role as an apprentice hairdresser as the salon she was working with closed.
The 18 year old is the first to admit that her confidence took a major hit as she was struggling with the demands of finding another job.
Then in April last year Markayla was able to undertake the Transition to Work (TtW) Program through BUSY At Work and since then she hasn’t looked back.
Prior to starting the program Markayla had spent a lot of time and effort searching for work without success. BUSY At Work Employment Consultant worked closely with her on her resume writing, interview techniques, career planning and presentation skills and this helped improve her motivation and confidence greatly.
Mature age employee Dianne Smith has never been one to shy away from hard work.
The Cairns local had been previously unemployed for two years in Melbourne but has now found her feet in the tropical north after securing full time work in a field she has always enjoyed.
With the help of CoAct BUSY At Work Employment Consultant, Jessica Campbell and Placement Officer, jobactive, Jason Meyer, Dianne is now working 40 hours a week as a cleaner with respected local business, Abelia Cleaning.
In September last year Daniel Newell was at a low point in his life. With a wife and two children to support, the future was looking very uncertain with Daniel unable to secure regular work to make ends meet.
After connecting with Jason Meyer, BUSY At Work’s Job Placement Officer for Smithfield, Mareeba and Atherton, Daniel was able to turn his life around and is now working full time in a new career which is not only financially rewarding but one he is passionate about.
In the lead up to meeting Jason, Daniel had been unemployed for two years and in his own words he had become “very discouraged with what the universe had thrown at him.
