BUSY launches new Australian Apprenticeship Support Services Services

BUSY At Work in partnership with Skill360 ushered in a new era last night as it launched its new Australian Apprenticeship Support Services services in Queensland.

Under the new contract starting today (1st July), BUSY At Work will deliver tailored advice and support to Australian Apprentices and employers who need additional assistance prior to sign-up and in-training.

BUSY At Work CEO Paul Miles said it was extremely pleasing that the service provider will be at the forefront of delivering the apprenticeship program in Queensland.

“For more than 35 years BUSY At Work has played a key role in growing Australian Apprenticeships in Queensland. We are looking forward to expanding this role with the launch of the Australian Apprenticeship Support Services model,” Mr Miles said.

“This is about working with the government to support apprentices, trainees, employers and communities throughout Queensland through the new network.”

Senator Hon Simon Birmingham, Assistant Minister for Education and Training, announced the new Australian Apprenticeship Support Services contracts awarded by the Commonwealth Government in late April.

Representing the Assistant Minister, Federal Member for Ryan, Jane Prentice MP said today, marks a new era in how the government structures, funds and supports apprenticeships in Australia.

“The new Apprenticeship Network will provide tailored services including screening, testing and job-matching so that the right apprentice can be matched with the right apprenticeship and the right employer,” Mrs Prentice said.

BUSY At Work CEO Paul Miles said the program will provide services to more than 45,000 apprentices and trainees each year and tens of thousands of employers throughout Queensland.

“BUSY will provide employers with essential administration, payment processing and regular contact. We will also deliver targeted support for employers and individuals who are identified as needing additional support to complete the apprenticeship.

“BUSY is looking forward to further developing its strong working relationship with Skill360 as it partners with the organisation to successfully deliver the Australian Apprenticeship Support Services in Queensland.”
