BUSY At Work becomes a Job Services Australia provider

One of Queensland’s leading specialists in apprenticeships and traineeships, BUSY At Work have announced that they will deliver the Job Services Australia program from May 12, 2014. BUSY At Work will now deliver the services previously supplied by Anglicare Southern Queensland’s Jobcare on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane in partnership with Job Futures.

Job Futures BUSY At Work is funded through the Australian Government’s Department of Employment.

Paul Miles, CEO BUSY At Work said he was looking forward to the changeover and welcomed the Job Services program. “This is a monumental day for BUSY At Work and I’m absolutely delighted with the transition of Jobcare to BUSY as this further extends our services to employers and jobseekers in South East Queensland.

“Job Services Australia (JSA) is an area of work that we have been passionate about for many years and we’re incredibly pleased to now have another avenue to support unemployed members of our communities,” he said.

CEO Job Futures Matt Little also welcomed the alliance with BUSY At Work. “Job Futures are very excited about the addition of BUSY At Work as our new Employment Services partner in North Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

“Demonstrating innovation with technology based solutions for connecting employers and job seekers together, BUSY are particularly proficient at connecting and engaging youth into work based opportunities.

“This recognised expertise will compliment Job Futures soon to be released Workforce Development initiatives for the Community Care sector,” Mr Little said.

Established in 1977 to deliver training and employment programs to homeless youth on the Gold Coast, BUSY At Work is a not for profit organisation which has expanded to provide various apprenticeship, employment and community programs across Australia.

Over the 36 years of operation, BUSY has continued to grow and now employs close to 250 staff with 25 offices located in Queensland, Victoria, Canberra, Newcastle and Perth and have provided services to approximately 250,000 Australians.

The latest transition with Job Futures will see 30 current Job Care staff become part of BUSY’s growing workforce.

“BUSY performs a dual role, providing services to employers and jobseekers. We are very passionate about creating successful career paths and getting the right fit for both the jobseeker and the employer from the beginning.

By aligning Job Futures and BUSY At Work we can now offer additional benefits that will provide employment clarity and a best fit selection for employers and jobseekers,” said Mr Miles.
