BUSY At Work, an Australian Apprenticeship Network Provider saw his enthusiasm and willingness to get ahead so it wasn’t long before Bryce was signed up into an apprenticeship with a local painting company.
Flash forward and four years later, Bryce has just completed his apprenticeship, now employed with commercial painters and decorators, Coatings Queensland. His latest painting assignment has been on a commercial project in a nine-storey building on the Queensland and New South Wales border town of Tweed Heads.
When asked for advice to others considering entering an apprenticeship pathway, Bryce stated, “It’s heaps of fun, and the best experience you can have!
“My advice to anyone starting an apprenticeship is to stick with it. It can be a struggle at first but it gets better over the years. Keep up with your fitness, that is really important. Tap into all the support you can get, including a living away from home allowance, to help cover costs in the early years, or mentoring support if you’re struggling. I received great support from BUSY At Work, they were ‘all over it’ when I needed it.”
Now that he has completed his qualification and his career is well and truly progressing, Bryce is looking to undertake a business course with plans to one day be his own boss and start his own business.
With a fantastic attitude and work ethic, Bryce is sure to succeed in whatever he does and we wouldn’t be surprised if he is soon looking to employ an apprentice himself!
