Hiring an apprentice or trainee doesn’t have to be hard, but it can be confusing to know where to start. At BUSY, we want to make sure you have all the information you need; that’s why you can contact us at any time with any questions you have about the process.
We can help you figure out what sort of qualification would suit your business (there’s over 600 of them), what sort of responsibilities come with hiring a trainee or apprentice, your legal obligations and what financial incentives are there to help you out.
2. Advertise the position
Once you’ve figured out what the best suited qualification is for your business, we place your job advertisement on Apprenticeship Central, the only job site dedicated to apprenticeships in Australia. We’ll do it free of charge and we’ll boost the visibility of your job to make sure it’s getting seen by the right people.
As an employer you’re able to search job seekers registered on our website, which takes the guess work out of hiring a new person. By reading through candidate profiles, you’re able to handpick the applicants that will be the best fit for your business and see whether someone is right for the job straight away, not months down the track.
Apprenticeship Central also hosts a wealth of information about the apprenticeship process and what is expected of every party involved.
3. Find the perfect candidate
Good workers are hard to find. From sorting through applications, shortlisting people and conducting interviews – hiring someone new isn’t the easiest or fastest process in the world. On top of this, there’s always the possibility that you’ll do all the work and think you’ve found the perfect person, only for it to all fall through at the last minute.
That’s where BUSY does the work for you. After we place your vacancy on Apprenticeship Central, we’ll complete the pre-screening and testing. From there we’ll provide you with an interview shortlist, so you won’t be chatting to anyone who isn’t worth your time. We’ll find you the best person for the position, with minimal effort required on your end.
4. Help with the paperwork
Forms are never fun, but everything has become a lot easier with online documents, and we can guide you through how to fill them in.
Everything from contracts to applying for government incentives and funding, we’ll help you look after it and make sure it’s all good to go. That way, you can focus on training your new apprentice or trainee without all the hassle.
