Works kick off on $210m Milton apartment tower

Construction works kicked off on a $210 million 30-storey apartment tower in Brisbane this week – potentially providing opportunities for apprenticeships in Queensland as by-product of the project.

The multimillion-dollar building, dubbed The Milton by developers FKP, will be situated over Milton Train Station and will contain 298 units.

As part of the high-rise project, $1 million will also be spent upgrading the train station to improve its connections and capacity for commuters.

CBRE leasing agent Julian Musial said the property is located in one of Brisbane’s premier dining districts, with it likely to attract more investment as Milton’s population grows.

“We believe demand will be particularly strong from cafes, predominantly looking to service the worker population and the weekend crowd, along with restaurants and bars aimed at capturing the after-work and residential markets.”

The new building will also feature a number of high-end luxury furnishings from Giorgio Armani’s global fashion empire, including lounge chairs, coffee tables, vases and cushions – all of which will be scattered through The Milton’s reception, recreational areas and foyer.

Due for completion in 2015, the apartment will boast resort style facilities such as a podium deck and a rooftop sky deck.
