Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise officially launched

The Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) has been formally launched in a move that should help to secure more jobs in Queensland throughout a variety of industries.

Covering an area with approximately 199,000 residents, the enterprise is an independent, business-driven organisation that aims to promote sustainable growth and diversity in the region.

Its work could secure more apprenticeships in Surat Basin, as well as many other surrounding areas.

Chief executive officer Shane Charles told the Australian Regional Media that the group is already starting to make an impression throughout the area.

“The Surat Basin region is known for its thriving agriculture, manufacturing and energy industries and offers plentiful business opportunities, as well as being a great place to live and raise a family,” he commented.

Mr Charles revealed that the TSBE has “hit the ground running”, as it is advocating the Western Freight Corridor (Range Bypass) project and helping to facilitate the growth of small businesses.

The organisation has set itself five strategic themes, he confirmed, which include identifying and influencing industries throughout the region and encouraging investment in local communities.

Furthermore, it also strives to provide solutions for key infrastructure blockages, while improving the availability of skilled labour.
