New apprenticeship website matches job seekers to vacancies

BUSY At Work has today launched a new website that connects apprenticeship job seekers with available apprenticeships for free around Australia. The site encompasses a number of firsts for an apprenticeships job search and matching website as well as some unique online tools.

Called ApprenticeshipCentral, the site offers job matching tools and essential information on apprenticeships to better match job seekers with the right vacancy. It removes the sometimes tedious chore job seekers face of trawling through page after page of advertised vacancies to find the few that best suit them.

The new website offers customers a range of tools to help them select, compare and apply for apprenticeship vacancies online. The website includes profile and resume building tools, filtering capabilities, useful resources and ways to save and share jobs and profiles.

Chief Executive Officer, Paul Miles said the website was part of the organisation’s drive to enhance the retention rates of apprentices across Australia and make it easier for them to find a job that suits them.

“We needed a way of letting potential apprentices know how to find the apprenticeship or traineeship that’s right for them in their local area.

“At BUSY we realised there is no one place to go to look for apprenticeship vacancies. Neither is there a place for businesses to go to search for the hundreds of job seekers looking for an apprenticeship or traineeships. The solution for us was simple – create one and make it free to users.

“The website has been built from the ground up by job seekers, apprentices and clients, in a conception-to-completion process involving focus groups, surveys and user-testing across all eastern states,” Mr Miles said.

“The website not only reflects our focus on apprentices and small to medium sized enterprises, but also our reputation as a dynamic community focused organisation which does things differently.

One essential requirement for the site was to help applicants with little to no skills or career experiences present a professional CV. The profile building tool intuitively guides users into developing their CV without even knowing they are doing it.

“Our users are tech-savvy so we have invested considerable time into making the website as user friendly and satisfying as possible.”

The site utilises functionality that is reflective of sites such as seek and Linkedin and not seen elsewhere in the apprenticeship industry.

“We’ve looked at the best websites beyond apprenticeships services and used this to benchmark ourselves. The work involved has been exhaustive so we are very proud of what it offers,” said Mr Miles.

Taking the service online brings to fruition BUSY’s vision to add a fresh dimension to apprenticeship jobs by providing more accessible help to job seekers to turn career dreams into reality.

ApprenticeshipCentral is the only free national job matching website dedicated to apprenticeships and traineeships in Australia.
