Supporting Disability

There's lots of help available for people with disability who are experiencing difficulties in obtaining employment or simply keeping up with work and study.

Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS)

Apprentices and trainees with disability and their employers may be eligible to receive additional assistance under the Australian Apprenticeships Incentive Program. A range of assistance is available to support Australian Apprentices with disability including Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support, also known as DAAWS. In addition to DAAWS, assistance is also available for those apprentices requiring tutorial, interpreter and mentor services with their off-the-job training. Assistance including workplace modifications is also available through the Employment Assistance Fund.

We have experience working with a diverse range of people, including higher skilled and redundant workers, long term unemployed and people with significant barriers such as drug and alcohol abuse, mental health issues and homelessness.

The Australian Government understands the challenges facing people with disability and recognises the need for transition support to help people with disability to participate fully in education, training and employment.The NDCO program works toward the Australia-wide coordination and delivery of transition services for people with disability who are at, or who will be attending, secondary school, university or vocational education and training.
